My name is Ingrid.  I'm a professional skier, enthusiastic cook, and new mom who loves being outdoors, running, mountain biking, skiing, hiking, camping, "surfing" (mainly bobbing around in the ocean), low-maintenance gardening, and sharing stories and pictures.

I am fully aware that the internet is stuffed with amazing cooking, new mom, adventure, and life blogs, and that I am very amateur at all of these things (except skiing).  And yet, I am compelled to share.  I love writing, and more than anything over the twelve years or so that I've been skiing professionally I've realized I love connecting with different people all over the world who share a similar love of challenging themselves physically and mentally in the mountains and in life.

I live in Central Washington with my husband Jim, our daughter Betty, and our rascally miniature Australian Shepherd, Buddy.  I favor the type of scrappy adventures that are simple to put together--the type where you grab your shoes and head out the back door.  I like to cook normal, regular, real food that usually can be thrown together last minute with whatever looks good at the market or between the weeds in the garden.  As a skier, my life for the past many years has been all about me--traveling the globe in pursuit of snow and thrills and movie segments and peaks and images and experiences.  Now, I'm excited for the newest chapter of having a family and navigating the new joy and challenge of giving our best to our daughter while continuing to try to be our own best selves.  More than anything, I find it incredibly freeing to know I will never have it all figured out and that I will still keep trying nonetheless.
